PCNames.com introduced the first version of an expired traffic search, a feature requested by many of its users.
This tool ranks all domains scheduled to come back on the market within the week according to how much traffic they might have. To determine if a domain name might still have traffic, it is checked for Google PageRank, Alexa Rank, DMOZ Listing, Yahoo Listing, number of links and pages found in major search engines, and how long the domain was registered. A positive score in most areas may indicate the site still has traffic. The only way to know for sure how much traffic the domain still has is to register it.
The tool is also valuable in finding domains to make money through domain parking. A parked page is a way for domainers to take advantage of the traffic a domain has by setting up a site with advertisements.
Sometimes domains are worth something regardless of their traffic, which is true for names listed in places like DMOZ or Yahoo. Registering a domain already listed could save you the entry fee.
